Mid-Roll:

These informative 60-second segments are custom-crafted by CT Creative Studio with your script and our music. Please provide up to 1,000 characters (approximately 150 words) you'd like recorded. 

Please start with the format, “This episode is brought to you in part by [product or organization], [description of product or company].” For example: "This episode is brought to you by Christianity Today, a global media ministry committed to gospel truth communicated with truth and love...."

 

Be sure to include a call to action at the end of your message, ideally with a custom URL for your tracking purposes. For example, "For more information, go to OrderCT.com/MarsHill."

Eblast Specs

You may submit a full HTML file along with images (Christianity Today will host the images on our server) or one static image with a URL. Christianity Today’s header and footer will be added to the eblast. Include your company name and/or logo within your ad for branding purposes and avoid any messaging in your eblast or the subject line that implies CT is asking subscribers to read your eblast. Please send HTML or image file and URL along with your preferred subject line to InternetAds@christianitytoday.com. Please include a subject line that does not use all caps or "Re:" as are often flagged as spam.

 

Size Specifications

  • Maximum width: 700px

  • Maximum height: Flexible, 600px-800px recommended

  • Maximum file size: 200kb (including images if sending an HTML file)

 

HTML Recommendations

  • Use table based layouts to ensure proper viewing across all platforms.

  • Use inline styles.

  • Validate your code: http://validator.w3.org.

  • Avoid background images as they do not always render properly across all email clients

General Banner Specs

Banner dimensions:

728×90, 320x50, 300×250, 600×150, and 970×250 pixels

  • Maximum file size: 200kb

  • Maximum of three creative banners per media plan line item

  • Refer to your I.O. for your exact dimensions

  • Tested by designer across all major browsers and versions prior to submission

  • Compliant with all applicable laws, regulations, and principles, including the Self-Regulatory Program for Online Behavioral Advertising


Includes the following:

  • Encased in 1-pixel border (gray or black recommended, though any color that clearly distinguishes the ad from the content may be used)

  • URL link

  • Alternate text (optional): maximum 70 characters

  • Brand logo on 970x250 px banners


Not allowed:

  • ​Embedded URLs

  • Transparent background or design that blends into page content

  • Rapid “strobing” animation of any graphic, copy, or background element

  • Faux functionality

  • Containing harmful applications or malware, including ActiveX, viruses, exit pops

  • Cross domain scripting

  • Cookies set in unapproved domains

  • 4th party ad serving

  • Animated gifs for the 970×250 banner size

Art Deadline: 

Due 2 weeks prior to online publication date in full working order and compatible with all major browsers and platforms. (On-time launch is not guaranteed for materials received late). Subject to review and approval by Christianity Today, and any revisions will be the responsibility of the advertiser/agency.

 

Impressions Policy: 

Christianity Today is not responsible for lost impressions due to malfunction of ads housed on third-party servers or late receipt of ad materials. Christianity Today impressions reports are the reports of record.

 

Submitting Artwork: 

Send via email as attachment to: InternetAds@ChristianityToday.com or you can instead place the art on your website and send URL via email to the email address above.

In-Banner Video Specs

  • Unit Size: 300×250 pixels

  • Max Initial Load File Size: 200 KB

  • Host Initiated Sub-Load File Size: 300 KB

  • Frames per Second: Cannot exceed 24 fps

  • Video Play Options: Host-initiated, 30 seconds max

  • Host Initiated Video File Size: 2.2 MB file weight

  • Formats: MP4 (preferred), MOV, FLV, MPG, AVI and DV format, or audio in MP3, AAC, WAV, ASF, PCM, M4A or AIFF format.​

Native Ad Specs

  • Title Text: maximum of 50 characters, including spaces.

  • Body Text: maximum of 200 characters, including spaces.

  • Static image: provide a 16:9 ratio image (max size 5000x2813px / minimum 440x246px image. The file should be a jpg, png, or gif no larger than 100kb.

  • Click URL: (can be any length) preferably leading to an article, blog or other media content.
